The Social Media Garden is an innovative open-access research project that will provide insight into the barriers that organisations face in embracing social media practices – and solutions to overcome them.
The project will be open until the end of March 2012 and can be accessed here.
You can watch a video walk through here: The Social Media Garden.
You can find more information on the People Management Blog.
The Garden eliminates unmanageable lists of comments and uses data visualisations to help participants navigate the conversation and facilitate mass collaboration. Algorithms then rapidly filter insightful comments based on input from thousands of other participants.
At the launch, Peter Newhouse, Senior Vice President at Unilever said, “Unilever is certainly adept at using social media as a marketing communications channel. Yet, it is my belief that there is even more to be gained from mass collaboration inside, as well as outside, organisations. To provide a better understanding of the issues, where better to turn than to the power of social media itself. We are pleased to support this global study, not only to give people a chance to experience the technology for themselves, but also to drive the social media agenda in organisations.”
A detailed report of the findings will be freely available to all participants.
